Taking risks and staying true to herself is what Anny is about. She combines a contemporary pop sound with a collection of intimate songs of breathtaking beauty, reminiscent of the music storytelling of Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and Sting.
Born and raised in Chicago, Anny knew from a very young age that she wanted to sing. Her first musical influences were Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Freddy Mercury, among others. Anny's childhood was filled with opportunities to travel and explore arts in different cultures. She reveled in dressing in crazy, bright colors and dreamed of being a famous rock star married to whichever pop icon she happened to fancy at the time.
Anny attended and graduated from Phillips Andover Academy in Boston then went on to Harvard University where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in European History and Psychobiology.
She then began writing for other recording artists as an unofficial writer for several music publishers. Anny began to write songs for herself in and in 1996 she started work on her first album but the record label went out of business. Her next step was teaming up with producer Craig Snider and the two of them created the scintillating sounds on her CD "Strange & Beautiful".
